AvtoVAZ’ Russian sales rise 8.7% to 35,407 cars in December

MOSCOW, Jan 10 (PRIME) -- Largest car maker AvtoVAZ’s Russian sales increased by 8.7% on the year to 35,407 vehicles in December, Executive Vice President Jan Ptacek told reporters on Thursday.

AvtoVAZ plans to raise domestic sales by up to 10% in 2019 after a 16% rise to 360,204 vehicles a year earlier and keep its market share at 20%, Ptacek also said.

Exports increased 57% to 38,052 cars in 2018, Ptacek also said, adding that Lada cars are sold in 34 countries.

He also said that the entire Russian market of new cars and light commercial vehicles (LCVs) grew 13% to 1.8 million units in 2018. In 2019, the market is expected to grow up to 10%, he added.
